This blog came about at the encouragement of friends who felt I should find a broader audience for my musings. My interests are pretty wide so this blog will cover lots of topics over time - see the list of conversations on the home page.
My business career was as a senior finance executive for several companies in various industries. My background there includes being a CPA with an MBA.
I left the corporate world somewhat in frustration several years ago. What I spend most of my time working on now is game design and managing an active online deep strategy game called Alamaze (www.alamaze.co). Alamaze and my other published strategy game, Fall of Rome each won Origins Game of the Year Award for their category (Origins is the world's largest gaming convention).
Without the 60 hour workweeks and long commutes, I was able to spend a lot more time thinking about issues that face America, and my fascination with the human mind. I also filled in some gaps in my education such as philosophy and began writing pretty regularly: some short pieces, comments really on America from the angle of the ramifications of what political and social decisions may lead to and longer essays generally on the mysteries of the mind.
I hope this blog provokes your own thoughts and leads to interesting discussions.
Thanks for being here, and I hope you become a regular visitor.
